Founding & Managing Attorney
Mikhail Usher, Esq.
Leads the strategy from first assessment through litigation.
Mikhail Usher is the founding and managing attorney of Usher Law Group P.C., a litigation firm with offices in Brooklyn, New York and Aventura, Florida. He leads the firm’s ADA-access and civil-rights work and decides the strategy on every access matter: whether the facts support a claim, which court and which law give the client the strongest position, what to demand from the business, and when to file.
Admitted to practice since 2011, he has litigated in the state and federal courts of New York, New Jersey, and Florida at both the trial and appellate levels. His federal work includes civil-rights and mandamus actions, habeas corpus petitions in district court, and appeals; he has argued before the First, Second, and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals. Before building the firm’s access practice he spent years representing individuals against the federal government in hundreds of contested immigration and asylum matters, including appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and petitions for review, and in the firm’s commercial, consumer-protection, and criminal-defense matters.
That background shapes how he handles an access case. He reads the record before he reads the law, preserves the evidence early, and chooses the path that is legally sound and realistic for the person in front of him—a negotiated fix where one is available, and a federal complaint where it is not. He meets with clients directly and speaks English, Russian, and Spanish.
He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Brooklyn College (CUNY) and his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law.
